CNN —Even before law enforcement raided his homes, the rapper, producer and businessman Sean “Diddy” Combs faced a host of legal issues. The investigation stems from many of the same sexual assault allegations put forth in the civil lawsuits, according to a second law enforcement source familiar with Monday’s searches. Ventura v. Khorram allegedly ordered prostitutes and illicit drugs for Combs and his guests and according to the lawsuit, Jones believed Khorram “aided and abetted” Combs’ sexual assault. “Our attempts to share this proof with Mr. Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls. “This was done to ease Mr. Jones’ anxiety concerning homosexuality,” the suit alleges. In a statement to CNN, he called Jones’ allegations “false.”“My lawyer will be handling this going forward,” Stevie J added. The other plaintiff, Kelsey Harbert, accused Gooding of groping her breast in June 2019 at the Magic Hour rooftop bar, also in midtown. Lawyers who have represented Gooding in civil and criminal litigation over his alleged sexual misconduct did not immediately respond to requests for comment. He pleaded guilty in April 2022 to a misdemeanor charge of forcibly touching Abbay, who was not identified by name at the time but revealed her identity in her lawsuit. The charge was downgraded six months later to harassment, to which Gooding pleaded guilty after complying with a plea agreement that required alcohol and behavior modification treatment and no further arrests. Accusations by Abbay, Harbert and a third woman were the basis for a six-count indictment against Gooding, which his guilty plea resolved.

The actor Cuba Gooding Jr. on Tuesday settled a civil lawsuit that had accused him of rape, averting a trial that had been expected to include testimony from three other women that he had abused them between 2009 and 2019. Mr. Gooding, who had previously been accused by a score of women of groping or forcibly kissing them, pleaded guilty last year to a single charge of kissing a woman without her consent. The civil case that was to have begun Tuesday, which was filed in 2020 in Federal District Court in Manhattan on behalf of a woman identified only as Jane Doe, leveled the most serious accusations to date against Mr. Gooding. Many of the allegations have involved figures in the entertainment world. Mr. Gooding, a Bronx native, played the lead role in the 1991 film “Boyz N the Hood” and won an Academy Award in 1997 for a supporting role in “Jerry Maguire.”

CNN —An anonymous woman and actor Cuba Gooding Jr. have “resolved the matter” in the federal civil rape case against him, according to a court docket entry. The trial was set to kick off Tuesday with jury selection, but is now “off the calendar,” the docket states. The woman had alleged that Gooding raped her at the Mercer Hotel in August 2013 after meeting her in a bar earlier that night. Last year, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of forcibly touching a woman at a New York City nightclub in 2018. Gooding admitted to kissing the woman, a waitress at the club, on her lips without consent.

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. resolved his New York City forcible touching case Thursday with a guilty plea to a lesser charge and no jail time after complying with the terms of a conditional plea agreement reached in April. Gooding, 54, faces no additional penalties and, by replacing his misdemeanor plea with a plea to a noncriminal violation, he will not have a criminal record. Gooding pleaded guilty in April to a misdemeanor charge that he forcibly kissed a worker at a New York nightclub in 2018. Judge Curtis Farber earlier had ruled if the Gooding case went to trial, prosecutors could have called two additional women to testify about their allegations that Gooding also violated them. Along with the criminal case, Gooding is accused in a lawsuit of raping a woman in New York City in 2013.
